EFC Welcomes New Director of Communications and Outreach

WASHINGTON, D.C., (April 14, 2010) – The Education Finance Council (EFC) today announced Allison Kreutzjans will be its new Director of Communications and Outreach.  In this role, Kreutzjans will direct EFC’s communications and media relations efforts, and coordinate the association’s role as a clearinghouse for its members’ college access and outreach activities.  Her responsibilities will include serving as EFC’s point of contact for media inquiries, editing the EFC Exchange newsletter, developing other printed materials and maintaining and expanding the association’s online presence.

Kreutzjans will be transitioning into the position currently held by Krista Cole, Vice President of Communications and Industry Relations.  Cole will be leaving EFC to move to San Diego, California where her fiancée is taking command of the Coast Guard Pacific Area Tactical Law Enforcement Unit.   Her last day at EFC will be May 14, 2010.

“We are very fortunate to have Allison join us,” EFC President Peter Warren said.  “Her communication skills, her association experience and her contagious enthusiasm will be invaluable assets to EFC and its members as we transition into a new and challenging environment for student lending and higher education finance.”

“It is an honor to join the Education Finance Council,” said Kreutzjans. “I look forward to working with EFC members and staff as we further the organization’s aim to make college more affordable.”

Prior to joining EFC, Kreutzjans served for two and a half years as the Press Assistant for the Washington, D.C. office of the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Communications from The George Washington University School of Media and Public Affairs.
