EFC,SLSA Urge Reconsolidation Provision Not Be Included in Senate Student Loan Bill
Today, the Education Finance Council (EFC) and the Student Loan Servicing Alliance (SLSA) sent a letter to Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee Chairman and Ranking Member Tom Harkin (D-IA) and Michael Enzi (R-WY) requesting that the Senate not include a proposed provision allowing borrowers with Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) consolidation loans to “reconsolidate” into the Direct Student Loan Program (DSLP) in its student aid reform legislation.
